Glassblower-Family Müller-Blech since 1596 in the 15th generation
In September 2007 I started my apprenticeship as an industrial manager at Inges Christmas Decor. Since completing my apprenticeship, I have been working in sales, my desired department. I was able to prove my abilities in the internal sales department and I can now travel to the most beautiful places of Germany. The numerous trade fairs at which I can represent the company are the annual highlights. I can take recourse to my experience and expertise, share it with colleagues and pass it on. This is appreciated and used equally by customers, colleagues and superiors, so that I feel like an important employee of the company.
I am proud of what I have achieved at Inges Christmas Decor and being part of the team that brings joy to people’s living rooms for probably the most important celebration of the year.
My parents were glassblowers; therefore I could watch my father making Christmas tree decorations in my spare time. At the age of 19 I became a glassblower and I still produce different shapes and ornaments like balls, Christmas tree finial, etc., which are refined in the further production process. In the pre-Christmas period I give demonstrations to show our customers the glassblowing craft. Children and adults are allowed to make their own Christmas tree balls under my guidance. Occasionally, I lead customers or private groups through our Historical Christmas Museum, I tell the story of Christmas and I explain the development of Christmas tree decorations.
My greatest experience was to present the glassblowing craft itself and our INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR collection in the USA. I am proud to work in a 180 year old craft. The great variety of products and the regular working hours are very important to me for my job at Inges Christmas Decor.
After my apprenticeship as a glassblower I joined the company Inges Christmas Decor. Since I had specialized in the production of Christmas tree decorations, I was sure that I could use and improve my skills best in a company with such a large product variety. During my time in the company, I not only improved my skills in glass blowing, I also had the opportunity to work in other areas. For example, I show the painting process to our customers all over Germany. I am also involved in sales at our stores and help to set up exhibition stands.
The complexity of my work challenges me and allows me to develop not only professionally but also personally.
I have been working in the “Christmas business” for 19 years now. A few years ago I discovered the company Inge’s Christmas Decor GmbH as a new employer by a lucky coincidence. First, I worked in the field sales force and after three years, I was called to the head office of the company. I actively support the management now, I coordinate, I plan and organize everything that arises every day. Just a typical right hand man.
My annual highlight is the international trade fair “christmasworld” in Frankfurt, which takes place in January, where over 1,000 exhibitors meet 45,000 visitors.
We are a great team at the fair and all year round. Whether sales or production, everyone knows everyone. It is precisely this harmony that is reflected in the quality of the products, that makes us successful. We maintain a great cohesion and are especially proud of it.
